Medical Massage Practitioner

Completed my Certification for Medical Massage Practitioner this month. I know, I have been doing medical massage for years but felt the need to finally get certified. For those of you who don't know, I will bill PIP and Workman's comp. Other Insurances accepted if they accept me.

I am interested in which Medical Massage Certification Course & exam you have taken. There are such differing views on whether massage therapists need to take these courses. I think we should if we choose to offer this type of massage to our clients.

I took my certification with the LMT success group. I have been performing medical massage since 2001 and took the certification for the CE's. Also learned a few techniques or ways to do things easier. I suggest taking these courses if you want to work with people in a setting other than spa setting. It definately helps if you want to bill insurance. Here in Florida we are considered health care professionals, and if you choose to bill insurance there are some things you need to be familiar with. This type work is not for everyone.
